about me

Julie Ann Reed

MA, NCC, LPCC-S, CCTP, EMDR Trained

I earned my bachelor’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University and my master’s in counseling from Wake Forest University.

As a former teacher, I truly believe knowledge is power!

I have built my private practice by combining my two passions; teaching and helping others. My specialty is working with those who have suffered trauma, with an emphasis on treating childhood trauma survivors. I have specialized training in trauma-informed care, including EMDR. In my spare time, I enjoy being out in nature; hiking, biking, and running. I also love to spend time with my husband and 3 sons, traveling or just hanging out.

My Philosophy

My counseling approach is educational, supportive, and non-judgmental.  I believe therapy is a collaborative endeavor. Together we will create a therapy plan that is specific to your needs. The overall goal is to learn and utilize coping skills, build insight, motivate self-learning, and encourage empowerment. We will focus on healing and change in a supportive, safe space where you can be heard.
